Chapter One: The Vision
The day was bright and hot. The trees occasionally swayed in the light breeze, but besides that, there was no life. The sun beat down on the baked earth, forcing people and Pokemon to take shelter in their homes. In one house, there was a boy named Ash, enjoying the A.C, and also watching Pokemon battles on the television. There was also two others in the room with him. A girl, a little older then him, with red hair tied in a ponytail, who's name was Misty, and another boy, about the same age as the girl, but with a red headband around his head, and baggier clothing, who's name was Tracy. He was sketching a yellow mouse type Pokemon, with red, electric cheeks, and a lightning-bolt-type-of tail. This Pokemon was Ash's Pikachu, his first, and most loyal Pokemon, that was also his best friend. The three sat in silence, listening to the announcer talk about the battle that was going on at the time: "And there it is folks! Kadabra's psychic attack knocks the undefeated Hitmonlee down into the ground with a mighty blow!! Yes folks! You have just witnessed a phenomenal event! The champion, Kadabra!!" The announcer yelled the last words, and the crowd went wild, including Ash and Misty. Tracy looked up from his sketching to see the two kids bouncing up and down, yelling Kadabra's name. "Yeah! I knew Kadabra would win!! I just knew it!!" yelled Ash. "Yeah! Alright! Kadabra won! Aright!!" chimed Misty. Tracy smiled, along with Pikachu. Then the two sat back down to see who the Kadabra would be battling next. The announcer came back on, but this voice was different. It sounded softer , almost childish. The voice spoke: "Ash Ketchum, from the city of Pallet, you must help me... I need your help... Only you can do it... I know you...are out there... And I... I need your help... Please come... To... Lavender... Tower..." In the last words of the voice there flashed a faded image of a child, a young girl, with blond hair, and intense blue eyes, that looked as though she were crying, or in pain. But this image lasted for only an instant, and then it was gone. Ash shook his head, and rubbed his eyes, thinking that it was just an illusion, or something. Then he turned to Misty and said, "Hey Misty... Did you see that too?" Misty, who was smiling turned to Ash. "See what?" she asked. "The voice, and the girl...!" he said. Misty looked at Ash in speculation." I didn't hear or see a girl... Ash... are you feeling ok?" she asked with concern. Ash turned to Tracy in disbelief. "Did you see her Tracy?" asked Ash. Tracy, along with Pikachu, looked at Ash the same, questioning way that Misty did. "I didn't see anything..." said Tracy. "Pika?" asked Pikachu. Ash was shocked. Why didn't they see the girl? Was he going crazy, or something? Ash got up out of his seat on the couch and walked into the kitchen, where his mother was standing, with concern written all over her face. "Honey, what's wrong? I heard you talking in there and I..." she said. Ash went over to the cupboard and pulled out a glass, went to the sink, and poured himself some water. He drank it down in five gulps. He set the glass down and looked up. Misty, Tracy, Pikachu, and his mother, were all standing in the kitchen doorway, with worried faces. Then, slowly, their faces started to crack, breaking to the floor, with loud crashes as they fell. Ash screamed in fear. As the four crumbled, they said in chant, "The Tower... the Tower... the Tower..." Then, once all of them had cracked and fallen, behind them stood the same little girl that was on the television. She looked up. Her eyes were fiery red, and she had a white rose in her hand, that was stained with blood. She ran up to Ash, with her hands out stretched, as if she were about to strangle him, screaming as she ran.... Ash yelled in fear. He was sitting up in his own bed, wet with sweat. He looked slowly around the room. Yes, this was his own bed, his own sheets, his own alarm clock... everything was his own. He breathed heavily. Then there came footsteps outside of his room, and a soft knock followed by, "Ash? Are you alright?". The voice was that of his mothers'. Ash found his voice and said, "Yeah... I'm ok..." The door opened and his mother walked in, along with his Pikachu. She sat down on the bed next to Ash, with worry on her face. Pikachu jumped up and looked at Ash with worry also. "Were you having a bad dream, honey?" she asked, searching his eyes for an answer. "Yeah... I'm ok... Just a nightmare, I guess..." he answered. He looked down at Pikachu. "Pika...?" it said softly. Ash smiled. "Yeah, it was just a dream..." Tracy and Misty walked into the room. "Ash, are you ok? We heard you yell and..." said Misty. "Yeah... I'm fine... really..." Ash answered. Ash turned to look at his mother. She looked at him, still a little worried, and said, "Well, if you are alright, why don't you come outside and eat some lunch..." "Ok... I'm coming..." Tracy, Pikachu, and his mother left the room, but Misty was still worried. Ash looked up at her. "Misty, why was I sleeping?" he asked. Misty sat down. "You don't remember? Well, we were about to go to see Professor Oak, when you suddenly fell down in the road, I guess from the heat, or something... We brought you into your house, and gave you some aspirin, because you had a fever. You slept the whole time..." she explained. "Oh, yeah... I remember now..." he said. "Well, come on... Your fever's gone, so now you can come eat the great meal your mom's made for us!" Misty walked out of the room. Ash got up out of bed, and went to the mirror to primp himself, when he noticed a white rose, sitting on the dresser. Ash looked at it in speculation... Maybe it wasn't a dream... he thought. He picked up the rose, and found a note hanging from it. It read, "The Tower... Ash... The Tower..." Ash was wide eyed with terror and curiosity. He picked up the rose and walked quickly out of his room and into the kitchen, where the four sat, about to eat their meal. They looked up from their plates with wonder. Ash held up the rose slightly and said, "We're going to Lavender Tower!"
